About

THANK YOU for taking the time to read this!

I’m Scarlet, founder of
MoonTower Microblading in Austin, Tx.

The beauty industry must be in my blood. I grew up in my parent’s salon in Chicago. That was where my parents co-founded American Crew® Hair Products for men. I spent many afternoons and weekends assisting my mom on photo shoots, hair shows, fashion shows, and weddings throughout most of my childhood.

I caught the entrepreneurial bug early.

I started a production company in 10th grade and set up concerts for
Sony and Warner Bros Records.

At 17 I spent all my free time working with a lab to develop my own line of cosmetics. During this time I taught myself graphic arts, web building, logo, and packaging design. I used those skills to create the branding for my new company, Darla Makeup®

In 2008, my makeup was featured in Nylon Magazine and Bust Magazine. Darla Makeup quickly became a favorite to Grammy winner Hayley Williams of Paramore and Grammy-nominated singer Cassadee Pope.

“ScarletMadeline Makeup Mastermind”

At 19 I got a job at Buzznet as their official makeup expert.
My content had millions of readers.

As my online presence evolved I started working as an on-air personality. I interviewed celebrities for various television, online, and magazine publications. The job took me all over the country on various music tours.

During that time I was featured on CBS News, ABC News, and many international publications.

The music industry became toxic and was not a good long term plan for me.
In my mid 20s I began working as a freelance clothing and product stylist for advertising. I worked in the photo studios of department stores like Kohl’s.

I even styled an editorial shoot
that was featured in Vogue!

Styling home goods for advertising sparked my love for decorating.

I moved to Austin in 2014 and started the art project of a lifetime:

I taught myself how to gut, redesign, and finally rebuild a historic house in East Austin.

While working on the house, I have worked freelance doing makeup for film in Austin. I worked on productions like AMC’s Fear of The Walking Dead and Rooster Teeth’s Laser Team. I even did hair and makeup for a Bare Naked Ladies music video.

For the last two years I traveled the world. During this time I realized how ready I am to set up a home base and business in Austin. I really love this city and am so excited to start a business here! Once I discovered my passion for permanent makeup artistry the trajectory of my life changed completely. I was certified by Texas Laser & Esthetic and found a studio to rent a week later Education is very important to me. I was lucky enough to get a lot of one on one training to hone my microblading and microshading skills. Moontower Microblading has been a real passion project and I am so pumped to be starting this artistic journey! I’m looking forward to working with you to design brows you have always dreamed of!
